The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of sintering temperature on the physical and microstructural properties and hardness of lithium silicate glass ceramic containing ZrO2 (ZLS) fabricated by pressureless sintering method. To achieve the best microstructural and physical properties, different sintering temperatures were applied. Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) were used to investigate the microstructure and phase analyzes. Micro Vickers hardness, bulk density, water absorption and apparent porosity of the samples were measured. The results showed that the glass ceramic obtained at the sintering temperature of 900 °C has the highest Vickers microhardness (7.22 ± 0.67 GPa) and bulk density (2.53 ± 0.03 g/cm3). With the further increase of the sintering temperature, despite the formation of prismatic zircon phase, the hardness (5.72 ± 0.28 GPa) and the bulk density (2.34 ± 0.03 g/cm3) decreased.
