Abstract:   (2044 Views)
This research was conducted  to develop antibacterial properties in HA composite by doping Ag-Co simultaneously. Chemical compounds Ca10-x Ag x/Co y(PO4)6 (OH)2 with values (x, y= 0, 0.5, 1) were synthesized by co-precipitation method which is an economical and simple way.
XRD, FESEM and EDS analysis were used to investigate structural and microstructural characteristics. The result of XRD analysis revealed pure HA phase with no minor other phase and dopants ions displaced to Ca sites well. Spherical morphology was appeared in all samples by FESEM test however the size of particles decreased by inserting dopants. To determine antibacterial properties, zone inhabitation test have utilized. The samples were prepared against E.coli bacteria, which are the most infections agent. Finally, this antibacterial characteristic observed the most effect against bacteria in Ag- Co doped HA sample.
